Thomas Geppert, M.D.

Dr. Thomas Geppert is a board-certified rheumatologist and internist who joined Rheumatology Associates in 1998.

Dr. Geppert has been a principal investigator at Metroplex Clinical Research Center (MCRC) for several clinical trials developing new therapies for lupus and scleroderma. He has also participated in numerous trials that have been instrumental in developing new therapies for arthritis.

Prior to private practice he was an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the UT Southwestern Medical Center for 15 years doing clinical and basic science research as well as teaching doctors/students and treating patients. He was awarded grants from the Arthritis Foundation, Lupus Foundation, and American Cancer Foundation for his work in cellular immunology in the immune system. He wrote six chapters in Internal Medicine/Immunology textbooks and published over 40 articles in leading scientific journals.

Dr. Geppert received his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine in 1980 and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha as a junior. At Wisconsin he received the William Bleckmenn Award for Clinical Promise.
